Finding Myself

a poem by Aarti Raheja

What do I want?
What do I need?
I wait for the list to flow
The mind to churn out the juices of desire,
As the heart gears up for a tug of war!

Tic tok, tic tok, tic tok,
Stop!
The pen dries up
The hand is still
The blank paper questions it’s existence.

Who is it that wants?
Who is it that needs?
The thought brings a smile as love glistens in my eyes
My hands come together
My head bows down
As the ‘I’ in me bows down to ‘thee’.
