Time Capsule

a poem by Remigius de Souza

A sapling sucks on her breasts
leaning on life, learning survival
by sharing and practice mutual.

Those outside cultivated teachers
Of pre-eminence who spared no efforts
Pruning grafting transplanting

Conditioning faithfully, branded
aesthetics. The plant now stands
rickety forlorn in the concrete jungle.

Its life-absorbing limbs are gagged
covered with effluent defecated
by affluent society that lived

on canned water, milk, food and love,
canned spirituality and entertainment.
All teachings turn a judgement, a tyranny,

in the darkness. They turn blind eye
to the ancient sun nurtured a billion
flowers to fruition abundant.
