Short Poems…..

a poem by Jan Oskar Hansen

Large drops of rain
make momentary holes
in a muddy puddle.

……………………………..

The shadow shackled
to the balcony’s railing
was set free by the sun.

……………………………..

The morning mirror
has no sense of discretion,
it steams up laughing.

……………………………..

My father’s brow was so knitted
that it produced
a Jersey sweater.

……………………………..

When the Man came to Greenland
he gave the Eskimos religion,
booze and gonorrhea.

……………………………..

When humanity barnacled
backed, wild eyed and vicious rose
from a blood foamy sea
the dinosaurs called it a day.
