Haiku – 5

a poem by Jan Oskar Hansen

Cold hearted ice floes
Float down a river of spring
Thawing rapidly.

Hope lit a flame
In the mountain troll’s heart
Spring came to his cave.

Vanilla ice cream
Not an unbearable craving
When it’s snowing.

It’s not in summers
But in failing autumnal light
That love grows strong.

A sad man died
Shackled by his middle class
Never fell off a wall.
