When Laburnum Blooms

a poem by Satheesan Rangorath

I don’t see anything
When you are around
I hold your hands tight
The world around me spins
Splashing in faded colours
I am struck hypnotized
Shading my thoughts, my vision
By the swiftness of your elegance
You appear before me
As reincarnation of freshness
I feel the warmth of your teasing love
I feel peace and harmony dance
On your lap, your one look, one touch
One breathe, one smile
Carry me away in to the infinity
Of ecstatic happiness
Purity dances with you
Emitting the music of love
The air gets purified
Making soft sweet tunes
From the flute on your lips
Your tiny little feet crossed
Creates a posture of aesthetic perfection
Every tiny movement of yours
Is a lesson; If not how would you have discarded
Everything with a shake of your lotus feet
Taking an arrow of our sins unto thy feet
Dropping curtain for the show
Where ever you are I feel the
Warmth of your hands in my heart
I cannot stop crying when the peacock
Feathers flutter
The coconut palm leaves nod
I cannot stop sighing deep when
Laburnums bloom in April
Then I remember your tiny little golden girdle-
around your hip dangle
I don’t remember. When did you leave me?
I was in deep slumber when you left.
Still sleeping in the womb of time
I can hear your anklets giggle in my thoughts
I meditate on a droplet of milk on your lips
The soft smile shining with butter on your cheeks
Oh what a sight! What a sight!
