Merging and Emerging

a poem by Asha Sunil

I sought the warmth of nature’s lap
She accepted this prodigal being with joy
Her divine voice lulling this anguished soul
Her patience unshattered by my complaints-
When I looked up at her sweet face
Several cruel scars marred that
I was filled with shame-for I knew the fact that
Despite my shady past, I still have her trust
This motherly gesture doth remind me
To love my siblings- the rest of humanity.
