Little about rain!

a poem by PCVC

There, submits the mighty Sun,
Resting behind the clouds from the south,
The monsoon thus sets in,
Sometimes early, sometimes on time
Too late at times, and never some years!

There, awaits the pearl in a secure shell
Hoofs the peacock, in its elegant attire
Smells the soil, with fragrance of mirth
Trees too eager to join waltz with zephyr
While the farm-boy all set to muddle!

There, lit the smile of a peasant
Who yearned for a heavenly splash
That his soul and soil would ingest
Longing are the seeds of hopes
To suck the essence and sprout!

There, sneered the city-dweller
Dreading the gutters that overrun
And too little choice for the day
Wondering how long would it be
Before life falls into the groove!

Oh! The Rain! That means not the same
For all the Elements of His Creation
Do come! To fill in the hearts of nature
Do go! To accord the urban-wanderers
Come Again! Fill in life’s emptiness!
