Ice, Snow, Fog and Mist – I

a poem by Ramesh T A

Perhaps the heavenly Milky Way could have descended as sheets of snow
And calmly settled over the mountains of the world millions of years ago!
Then on sometimes avalanche of snow suddenly comes down as snow storm!

White clouds of sky could be the bits of the Milky Way on the mountain top!
Ice and snow of the same kind stay on the North and South poles of the Earth!
So avalanche, storms, typhoons and tornadoes occur regularly on the earth!

Perhaps due that for men also suddenly so many ideas occur in the mind!
They occupy the mind as fog blocking the view of all objects before them;
But before implementation those ideas disappear as thin mists in the mind!

Likewise many ideas develop in the mind by conversation or experience;
But at the time of implementation no idea seems to be in memory at all!
Not even single imprint remain in memory unless jotted down in the diary!

Poetry is a magic as how ideas develop in the poet’s mind can’t be said.
Unless evolving ideas are noted down solid poetry can’t be aptly written.
As avalanche poetry appears fogging the mind and disappears soon as mist!

The worlds of mind and nature have link and oneness between them!
Runny nose due to cold or sweating are like the cloud that pours rain.
Like the lobes of brain clouds of sky cause cyclone, tornado or typhoon.

Temporary calamity becomes a permanent illusion in the mind of man.
Disasters appear and disappear without the end of constructive evolution.
Reality but not illusion or interpretation should be given importance.

Devas and Asuras churned out elixir in the Milky Ocean to attain immortality;
But both sides demanded for the supply of elixir first forgetting the main point;
So, Lord Vishnu coming as bewitching Mohini deceived Asuras favouring Devas!
