I waited for you

a poem by Reshma

Touches my soul with her lovely grin
Nearing to me with a tinkling anklet
Every year she peeps from the sky
To bestow her blessings.
I waited for her at my doorsteps

Surprisingly! she didn’t drop inside my soul this time
I asked her, why?
With a void look, she quietly waved her hands
Every year she peeps from the sky to
Bestow her blessings.
I waited for her at my doorsteps

She waved again fiercely
Scattering loads of friends
Shattering their dreams forever
With every drop of water, Oh! she betrayed
I waited for her at my doorsteps.

Crying with burden on her soul
She took a deep sigh and with
Welled up eyes, she poured back and said
Your Karma has made me incapacitated!

Every year she peeps from the sky to
Bestow her blessings.
I waited for her at my doorsteps
