Hydrous

a poem by Jayati

Rain
Soothe her pain
Softly touching the membrane
Spreading melodious ebullience
On her brown, pistachio epidermis
As the shower change into a tango dance
Power pouring Monsoon in a seismic trance
Through tunnels and crevices, a Mardi Gras mirth
High pitched soprano in calypso depth
How? Or whether you touch her heart
Receive and welcome is her art
Rain and sun in gratitude great
Gift their love to mother earth.
Debonair Rainbow’s novel debut
Obsequious bow respecting new birth.
Honeysuckle chuckle, scatter fragrance
Songbirds somersault in exuberance.
