Reminiscence

a poem by Gummadapu Narasimha Rao

O solemn son! thou wert my heart best delight
Thy splendid face hadest, spring-bright smart,
Glitter thy eyes, as that of elated stars twinkle
Adroit thou hadest, splendid face akin sparkle.

Adolescent thou led an exalted credible period
God opted and called back thou as sage proud,
Perpetrated never, fallible fault, for a fun even
Thy zest of zeal was apt maxim to the children.

Admired us well as prime wealth of our home
Thy nimble abilities gifted the decorous fame,
Thou gained wondrous and winsome wisdom
Thy petty span glazed still in family kingdom.

Morals thy wert age old percepts to immortals
Rendered thou noble toils to motivate mortals,
Spirit and soul my for ever entwined thy tomb
Shower thy virtues elite, on progeny in womb.

My heart earnest aims, thine live conversation
Soul my thrives to attain, thy holy association,
Heart craves of thine true physical attachment
O Lord! accord me heavenly abode attainment.
