Eclipse

a poem by Sudarshan Madhav Karhale

The white light of moon
is fading away
with shadows darkening;
swallowing it, day by day.

My eyes have been soaked
into the artificial light,
I see the souls of people
rushing out at my sight.

The dark knights have arisen,
fierce war has been started-
among violence and peace;
humanity has departed.

I hear the harsh sound
of scratching one’s pure heart;
ripping every drop of blood
with ‘deadly social dart’.

Weeds of religious myths
grow all over my brain
and egret of ego and conflict lurks
where breed the ‘cast-insects’.
