Your Return

a poem by Chetan Bhatia

Whenever you leave me and go,
water in my eyes dry up the whole body,
as if somebody is stabbing and,
tearing away a pound of flesh from my heart;
as if titanic is sinking and breaking apart.

It is only your return,
which brought tears in my eyes;
even crying with you,
I feel so nice;
all I want you to know,
my love for you is pure,
as pure as mountain snow;
and our world will be colourful,
like the pleasant shades of rainbow.

I don’t know,
whether I will get to enjoy all my joys;
I don’t know,
whether I will get to see my dreams come true;
but all I pray for is,
to live my life fullest just with you.
