Whenever

a poem by Saima Afreen

Whenever,
The frisky breeze plays with my hair
I feel it’s you;

Whenever,
The morning sun warms up my face
I feel the warmth of your breath on my face;

Whenever,
The foliage rustle
I feel you’re whispering something in my ears;

Whenever,
The moon rises in the sky
I feel you are smiling at me;

Whenever,
The glittering stars stare at me
I feel your shiny eyes are watching me;

Whenever,
I walk alone on paths
I feel you are walking with me;

Whenever,
Pink twilight grows around
I feel you’re putting your arms round me;

Whenever,
Sleep comes in my eyes
I feel I dream lying on your chest;

Whenever,
I am lost in oblivion
I feel I’m not alone;
I am in your arms
And
Every moment
I mingle in you
Like river in ocean
As you pour love
Passionately inside me;
And Time stands still
Watching me
As I become yours
Melting in your arms
Even when solitary
I remain!
