Well that’s all I want to say you

a poem by Soumalya Kumar De

Whenever I saw you in the heart of the market,
I thought, I must tell you about the feelings of my heart.
But the moment you came closer to me,
My mind started to boggle and frightened me,
That saying anything doesn’t hurt your feelings at all.
Therefore, I stood in the middle of those narrow lanes,
Quietly as a big banyan tree on the banks of river Thames,
Who had emotions in heart but unable,
To utter a single word in front of his love.

One day I will sure overcome these bad patches,
But what about our society who will never accept,
Our immortal love for each other that is far more pure than life,
As you are the princess of Ireland,
And I am nothing just a gleeman who used to entertain,
In the courtroom of My Lord, were you used to come?
With a big smile on your face at night,
In a search of a true lover in your life.

As you had been my only source of inspiration of lines,
I had composed innumerous poetry for our love.
However, you never tried to understand the meaning,
Of those lines, where I had compared your beauty,
With those heavenly muses with a pair of wings,
At their back, with the freedom to fly
Anywhere they like, far away from this madding crowd,
To a beautiful waterfall at the hilltop of river Nile.

I hope after my death when you will read,
This diary of mine where I used to write,
About you and my love you will surely acknowledge what I am,
Trying to say over my last twenty-eight lines.
