The Worthy Wait

a poem by Jagganathan V

God you are cruel, you have made me to wait for long,
I really don’t understand where things go wrong;
What is that, which makes me think of her alone,
I could have waded across the waters, if only I had known.

I see her face, when I look at the mirror,
Without her, life would be a big terror.
Just as the oceans touch the sand in a beach,
She is very near, but still out of my reach;

She is a goddess to me, every second I chant her name,
I don’t want to lose, this is the real game.
I can’t wait for long, she is mine,
With her around me, everything is usually fine.
