Love I seldom wished

a poem by Soju Raju

Under the night so dark and stars so bright I met her whom I seldom wished
Her hair all black and dress so white with cheeks so red she blushed
I was stunned, perplexed and anxious as she came down the night as a deadly hawk
She hitched her wings on her back and paced her walk
Giving me goosebumps on my back for it was a deja vu
The beauty I face makes my soul queer my tangled heart now beats for you
But the magic of the night ends with a fear for I was in love with the angel of death.
