Longing

a poem by Prashanth

“Love is not ever having to say sorry”,
Yet an apology makes a man loved.
Dreams are visions of life beyond,
Cluttered with ambiguities,
Yet again devoid of any complexity.

What I am? You may have dreamt of,
The way you are is what I want.
I long for the day I chance upon you,
By chance or perchance, it had better happen.

Dream everyone can, but realize not many do.
Fortunate I have been, to have had
The vision of you that I now adore.

To love you and to have you along,
Is what I know of as eternal bliss.
I long for the day, we realise,
What we mean, to each other.
Yes! I long for that haunting day,
When I summon courage to commit,
And confess “you are mine”.
