Hold me

a poem by Tony Gill

All those thoughts, locked inside
Screaming deafening pain
I would set them free
In love, blood, and tears

Yet a voiced grasped my soul
Don’t cry, don’t bleed
To love another
Would waste a soul

Then I found you
I laughed, I cried
I bled, I loved
All pain withered in love

Oh, bitter-sweet freedom
I love you
But it’s so painful
hold me now

I cried, I bled
I loved, I laughed
I wish you could see
hold me now
