Half past midnight

a poem by Purushothama Rao R

It is half past midnight my dear! Keep away from books
Put an ardent eye on me my beloved! With favouring looks
You and I are not you know for others’ crooks
Let us strive hard to drive easily to corners and nooks

Life always need not run on freeways alone my dear!
Let us trek the subways or sleek passages with out any fear
Are not the streams flowing fast with pebbles moving around in prior
Devise and derive some new avenues to come to our near

Spirituality and its affability are now our new concerns
Humming hymns always may not fulfill our ambitions
Beware our limitations and behoove from tensions
Life though looks large on canvas is pretty little before cupid’s mansions

Stupidity let us now deride and soak the souls in eternity
Let all know the veracity of the maxim that we are a different entity
