Do not be proud…

a poem by Tenzin Jangchup Lungkha

Do not be proud, O fair lady!
O you, who has the key
To the closet of everyman’s heart
Who though by no means and efforts
With such grace yet changes
Their life to a stage for sweet dreams
Let not me be a victim of thy beauty
For I have seen enough
Of lover’s tears in longing!
And heard enough
Of their sighs in yearning!
