Disenchantment

a poem by Purushothama Rao R

Sitting before the sea of sickness,
As a person waiting at the evening of life
I stick on to the ‘Sanskar’ channel
Where moral values are taught in seriatim

As a youthful guy my grandees glue to the sports channel
Where pastimes of present and past are viewed effortless

As kids my great grandees always gum to their chairs
Glancing the geographical channel and cartoon serials

But all girls, women and grand mothers watch unfailingly
The serials that teach animosity, villainy and crookedness
Are they disenchanted with menfolk or with their own class?
