‘I’s Saga

a poem by Sangeeta

Boundaries merge in a hazy swirl
Smothered smitherings of a turbulent soul;
Lay astrewn across Life’s fathomless goal.

‘I’ stood at Creation’s edge
Swore an oath, took a pledge
To stay unbent in the dolls and dredge.

Then came the inevitable plunge
Into the cold currents of Life’s longing
Which too soon churned up storms menacing
Lashing the sinews taut of ‘I’ unrelenting,
Battered, worn, but yet standing.
Only spewing the soul’s chore,
Shattered, but still pulsating;
In a tireless awaiting of ‘I’s gentle Tomorrow.
