A soul for sale

a poem by Ramachandran Nair R

I have a soul for sale,
Not to anyone who come with bag full of cash,
Not to one coming with all promises that can never be fulfilled,
But to one who has got a soul to understand another soul,
Take it and hold it with meticulous care,
So that the two souls blend well inseparably,
To live as soul mates for the rest of life and beyond.

What a commodity for sale and what a salesman!
Anyone coming up with such queries are not buyers,
But window shoppers moving around for nothing,
The commodity and the salesman are as they are,
With no outer or inner cover or with any make-ups,
As if somehow to sell a commodity that is un-saleable.

This soul for sale is precision made and oriented,
To add progressive value to the buyer’s soul,
Ever moving, ever growing and ever shining,
Always adding value to the commodity,
Not re-saleable as per mercantile law.

Caring, curing, consoling and carrying forward the life,
Which is made far more meaningful and purposeful to live;
Sensitive with the senses ever kept tuned to senses,
Everything and everyone around with not narrow but broad mind,
Honest to the core and articulate until breathing the last,
In a world full of dishonesty and artificiality.

Who will buy such a soul put on sale,
In the present day world market,
Filled with fake currency and artificiality?
