a poem by Safi Yani

Broken by the thirst and heat
Limping with my burning feet
In the expanse of sand
That comes not to an end
With scorching sun overhead
I drag myself ahead
Look for water all around
But nowhere is it found
Just mirages I can see
The tricks played on me
Almost dead, yet I strive
A hope is still alive
I’ll find somewhere
An oasis around here.
