Indian Doctors become Soldiers Fighting the Battle with Corona

a poem by Yerra Praneeth

I have forgotten
      forgotten my family

I have forgotten
      forgotten my friends

I have forgotten
      forgotten my food

I have forgotten
      forgotten my fear

I have forgotten
      forgotten myself

I am a doctor
I am in a war-zone
My enemy is not known

I am a Doctor
Hospitals have become my Home
I.C.U have become my Resting room

I am a Doctor
Masks has become my Mother
Syringes have become my sisters
Blood bottles have become my brothers
Reports have become my Revival
Patients… Corona patients… have become my love
I have become a Soldier… fighting against microscopic creature
I have become a fighter… fighting against the parasitic creature
I am an Indian doctor

I haven’t seen my enemy
Fighting it with my heart
Facing it with my hope

I am a doctor
I am daily waging a war with Coronavirus without a Weapon
Courage, confidence and Commitment is my character
Passion towards my profession… Service to society is my Nature

I am a doctor… An Indian doctor
