Santa in Mumbai

a poem by Nikky NY

From the frigid Arctic Poles
To the warm Arabian Sea Shoals
Santa Claus is coming to town
Sniffing on Kababs n Kathi Rolls

Landfall finally Whoa it’s Chimbai
Let’s have some local Fish Fry
How he wishes he knew before… that
East Indian masala will make him cry

Waiting for him the Bandra Boys
Eager to see their brand new toys
Jingle bell Jingle bell they sing along
Oblivious to the Mumbai Ka noise

Dashing thru the dusty lanes
Dishing out gifts n Candy Canes
Ho Ho Ho this place has more
Watch out for those speeding trains

Glittery Sky Scrapers to decripit slums
Hardworking folks to Lazy bums
Nothing like Santa has ever seen before
This city of hope… as it comes

Vada Pav Stalls to Glitzy Bars
Rickety Autos to Classy Cars
Santa navigates his precious Sleigh
Under the Foggy sky n fewer Stars

C’mon let’s open the bottle of Booze
It’s Christmas baby nothing to lose
Too many folks and no more gifts
Goodbye Mumbai… it’s time to Snooze…
