Seasons of Friendship

a poem by Sanal Kumar

I met you in the spring,
When nature was at its splendor
Birds were singing at their best.

Summer commenced
We walked through the heated
Terrain of our arguments,
Though the heat was offensive
We survived.

Then came all consuming
Autumn,
We set aside all our indifferences
Let them fall like those ailing leaves.

Cold winter breezed
Flew past.
We stood together
And watched the
Falling snow flakes
And waited for
An eternal spring.
