Friendship…

a poem by Sanal Kumar

On that parting day
You scribbled in my autograph
That I was the friend
Who gave new light to your life?
When you felt the loneliness from
Native land
As you came as stranger
To our class
7 years passed
Now I see you among the
Newfound friends.
Chatting cheerfully
After having carved a niche
In swimming
Getting a shining job
As I pass across you
You haven’t got a slightest
Recognition on me
When I walk like a soulless beast.
I wonder the changes time has brought.
And muse myself
Let the book of our friendship be closed
Unless it’s opened by you
