Twinkling of the heavenly stars at night,
Oh earthen angels lit with glowing light,
shrink the darkness of sadness and misery
to your faintest shadows,
burn with the brightness of happiness and glory
through our deepest marrows.

Let our cold hearts receive
the overwhelming warmth of love and care;
let no greedy watchdogs deceive
our innermost faith in the Almighty–
no one dare.

May the holy oil of your blazing bosom
never touch the flat bottoms;
may this sacred day of Diwali bring eternal peace
to our chaotic fathoms.
