Born Free

a poem by Jose C J

We are born free
But our freedom was taken away cruelly
The desire for power made us blind
And the glare of wealth made us blink,
Now the world is like an asylum.
Seeing the fate of the world,
Don’t put on a sad face, friend.
Slavery mocks at us,
But we’ll regain our freedom surely.
Don’t lose your hope,
For you can change the world-
Bring to the world eternal peace.
Awake my friends,
From your drowsy slumber
For the roots of slavery is too deep.
So to break the bondage, do your best
There is only little time to rest.
