Anand-lok (The World of Delight)

a poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Anand-lok,
God, Anand-lok,
Your Anand-lok,
Why is it looking,
Looking so deserted,
Desolate and dishevelled?

God, Anand-lok,
Your Anand-lok,
Anand-lok,
Lok,
The World,
The World of Delight,
Cosmic Delight?

Why is it,
Is it so desolate,
So deserted and devastating,
So dishevelled and disheartening,
Barren and morose,
Looking a different look?

God, Your Lok,
Lok,
Anand-lok
Not my, my Lok,
Not, not my World,
World?

God,
God, Your Lok,
Lok,
Anand,
Anand-lok,
World, Your World!

Why is it,
Is it looking
Barren,
Barren and desolate,
God, my God barren,
God, my God?

God, God, Anand-lok,
Your Anand-lok,
God, God,
Anand, Anand-lok,
Your Delight, World of Delight,
Why is it, is it barren and desolate?

Why is it appearing deserted,
Deserted and barren,
Why is it,
Is it desolate and dishevelled,
What, what has it to
The Garden of Love?

God,
God, Your Anand-lok,
Anand,
Your World,
World of Delight,
Cosmic World of Delight?

What that,
That to me,
That to me if love is not,
Love is lost,
As thus, as thus, my Lord,
If the flowers fragrance it not?

Everything but appears dark,
Desolate,
Barren and lonely,
Devastated and deserted,
Dishevelled and so distraught
And in shambles.

Anand-lok,
God, Your Anand-lok,
Why is it looking
So dishevelled,
So devastating,
So desolate and deserted?

Where delight seems to be not,
Where happiness is not,
Seems to be fraught with,
Where light seems to have extinguished
And it is dark,
Where there is no peace!

God, Your Anand-lok,
Anand-lok,
How fraught is it with
Sadness and silence
Doing the rounds,
How much deserted and desolate!

God, Anand-lok,
Your Anand-lok,
Anand-lok,
Your Anand-lok,
God, Your Anand-lok,
Anand-lok!

God, Your Anand-lok,
Anand-lok,
Aannd-lok,
Your Anand-lok,
Anand-lok,
Anand-lok!

Without Ananda,
Delight,
Without Joy,
Joy Divine,
Happiness,
Where that Happiness?

God, You Premananda,
Premanand,
But where Your Prema, where Your Ananda,
Where You Premananda,
How the connotation of Your Name,
God!

God, have heard,
Have heard
That You
Premananda,
That You Premananda,
There is the magic of Your name!

God, Premananda,
Premananda,
You Premananda,
The Statue of Premananda,
But where,
Where Prema, where Ananda?

We the mortal men,
Mortal men,
But You Divine,
Man Divine
And Your Ways, Ways
Different from those of ours.

We the mortal men,
Mortal men,
But You Divine,
Divine Being,
Being,
Soul, Soul!

Supreme Soul,
Supreme Soul,
The Oversoul, Oversoul,
The Overmind, Overmind,
The Self, the Greater Self,
The Power, the Power Divine!

But I a mortal man,
A mortal man,
A mortal man
Of mundane things,
Mundane,
But You Spiritual,
Spiritual Divine!

Your Ways,
Ways Divine,
But my ways,
Ways mortal and mundane,
Dusty lies it the path,
The path lying ahead
Which I have to,
I have to tread.
