A Hug

a poem by Sankhajit Bhattacharjee

‘Oh my God! What is this’!
His Mrs. exclaims with utter frustration.

‘You’re Anita…
Suvro is the only male child
of our Sanyal clan.
I’m his far-related aunt-
his grand’s brothers…
I stay abroad-
can’t attend your marriage’.

‘Thank God’.

They meet after a decade
in Ooty Hill Station accidentally.
All three are crying.
