Grow with me

a poem by Anup Chandran V

Grow with me, and watch me stumble,
through the blind alleys.
Watch me grapple,
the shadows within that threaten.
Watch me grope,
to come to terms with the guilts.
Watch my tears,
flow, giving vent to despair.
Watch me realise,
helplessness as things pass by.

Grow with me and feel my beginning,
as I try to see me in me.
Feel my content,
at satisfaction of a good deed.
Feel my warmth,
as I discover, the magic,
of compassion.
Feel my smile,
flitting, flying on wings of love.
Feel my bliss,
in the soundness of my sleep.

Grow with me and witness my love,
the love for which hate was made.
Grow with me and witness my smile,
the smile for which despair was made.
Grow with me and watch me help,
the help for which helplessness was made.
Grow with me and witness my light,
the light for which shadows were made.
Grow with me and witness my end,
the end for which the beginning was made.
