Black Board’s Majesty

a poem by Sreekanthkopuri

Black board word board
You are silent words load.

Oh! fascinating picture bearer
You are a silent lecture giver.

Not a black ghost but our host
last reminder in the class you are not least.

Least you are in cost
But you teach us vast.

For you teach us worthy words
you are worthy called wordsworth.

Though insensuous of Five senses
You are there in three tenses.

Our tongue utters much
Your face matters much.

To teach is your intension
We learn it without tension.

Black is your complexion
White is your combination.

You are to me a good teacher
Forever you are to us a silent watcher
