Suicide

a poem by Sayan Chaudhuri

Inhibiting, inspiring and impulsive
The soul goes into silent oblivion
Frantic, frustrated and fiery
Poison creeps into the heart’s legions

A hesitant whim to defy disabilities
A desperate attempt to be immortal
From worldly bonds and soulless songs
The plunge is incredibly fatal

Cowardice and courage at the same time
Light and darkness to the same vision
Angst ridden, adrenaline driven
An effort to end life’s mission

Mere foolery and unattainable bravery
The answer to life’s drudgery
Is the reason worth the pain?
Should suicide be a desperate destiny?
