So near yet so far

a poem by Suresh Chandiran

Gave a piece of paper and pen
to write as, what was in your mind
you asked me my pair of ears
to listen to what you feel and want to share.
Mellifluous words thwarted out
song of a cuckoo, a blooming rose,
setting of sun, the touch of a mom,
sweet and calm, and free as a breeze
Eth lay rit in front of me,
forgot a world existed for me…

Across those boundaries of space and time,
I still cud feel you by my side
I just lent you my pair of ears,
as you just kept talking on and on…

So far, yet so near..
