My life was a challenge
Which I was destined to face.
So I took in all that came my way.
My life was a dream
Which belonged to me and only me
So I adorned it with utmost elegance and grace.
My life was an adventure
Which I dated
Dated it so often that I ran out of luck.
My life is a duty
Which I have to perform
So I do it with utmost willingness, until thy end should come.
My life is a game
Which I continue to play
But now it seems to be the time for me to take a break.
My life was a mystery
Which I had to unfold
I did that so carefully that no one can refold.
My life is a song
Which I sing to no end
Each chord was struck with full delight but no more do the notes blend.
My life is bliss
Which I loved to taste
But now its sweetness seems saturated with bitterness.
My life was an opportunity
Which I utilised
But now these opportunities my eyes don’t recognise.
My life is a journey
Which I have to complete
I shall fulfil all my promises and leave non-to delete.
My life is a story
Which cannot be written
So I write it rhythmically instead
And make myself the poet of this poem.
