Moments

a poem by Joy

I stake no claim on your love, your life, your time
For what you give not heartily, I take not as mine
Those moments you reach out, your heart full of love
That is all I want, all I’ll ever need
These moments they make me buoyant
They help me keep afloat in turbulent times
These Moments they give me wings
To soar to unknown ecstatic heights
These Moments they make me ebullient
As though on elixir I sip heaven-sent
These Moments they make me glow
Luminous in my otherwise dark, dingy world
These Moments they make me sing and dance
Upon joyous celebration of love I chance
These Moments they make me complete
Those moments when you say “C’est la Vie”
They make me Me
