What a Diamond is

a poem by Tasneem

Diamond is worth a thousand words,
right from its birth.

With poets comparing it to the stars,
stealing which one could be put behind bars.

A success of love’s feat,
a reason for two hearts to meet.

Shining bright on the bride’s finger,
the memory of which forever lingers.

That’s not all what a diamond is,
it teaches us things better than all this.

That is to shine out in a crowd,
and to emerge a winner in every field.
