a poem by Suman Dodril

Treasure from the scientific abyss:
makes the onlooker’s, a heartbeat miss.

‘What’s in it?’ that we may ponder:
why don’t we call it the eighth wonder.

A challenge to man’s imagination;
its’ mother nature’s best creation.

Just a stone, made of carbon:
but it is every jeweller’s jargon.

Sharper than the sharpest knife:
key to the doorway to a romantic life.

Who doesn’t know about the Kohinoor:
reminder of a romance so pure.

Sits in the centre of the royal crown:
brings together two souls to the love throne.

A symbol of status and royalty:
every woman’s dream fantasy.

Every ladies dream come true:
it’s better than the sapphire blue.

A ladies heart easily carried away:
love is just a heartbeat away.
