Dead

a poem by Tiffany Morton

Mom I went to a party
now I wished I would have stayed in bed
I had a sprite but kids had beer instead.
I thought I’d make it home safe and sound
but now I’m on the ground.
Through the tears I cry I can hear the paramedics say
this girls about to die.
Mom I need you here with me to cry
as I take my last breath before I have to die.
Tell brother and sister I’ll miss them
and dad I’ll always be with him.
Mom thank you for your love
it was always sent from above.
Please god don’t let me die
I want to live death is no lie.
Am I dead is it all in my head?
I can’t breath now, my eyes are closing
and now I hear god calling me!
