Haunts

a poem by Teesha Guliana

The sun,
Sets over the high midway,
The tequila shots,
Burn down my throat.

I look over,
The skyline,
And spot,
The sapphire moonlight,
Gazing over.

Gripping the bar,
Tighter like my life depends on it,
Under the starry gaze,
Yet to come over.

Your tears,
Haunt my thoughts,
Yet over,
And over again…
