Computer Virus

a poem by Ramesh Narasimhan

Bit by bit, byte by byte,
The virus attacks, day or night.
The supercreation of a whiz kid,
From the expert, it is hid.
Widespread damage in its wake;
The virus destroys, for fun’s sake.
Incongruously entering hardware;
It is a civilised nightmare.
Babbage would have turned in his grave,
If he knew of this mighty knave.
If you wish to guard your heavy investment,
Watch out for that virus, don’t later lament.
