Freedom

a poem by Abhishek Chauhan

As I was just walking ’round the town,
I saw the children crying naked on the ground.
With no hope, sight or any future,
To break them free from their spells.
And when I looked into their faces
I tried to hide away my eyes.
Cause I still haven’t found out the answers
To the questions that they ask…

Yeah! Where’s our freedom?
Where’s our love?
When will we be the children,
Who will be carried by the Doves…
Yeah! Where’s our freedom??

Now as I sit back and I look around,
I see the consequences of our minds.
We’ve robbed them of their childhoods,
With no one willing to take the blame.
Are we all INSANE???
But when they look me right in my eyes,
I begin to get my sleepless nights.
With dreams full of many questions,
Lord!! Unanswered Questions!!

Yeah! Where’s our freedom?
Where’s our love?
When will we be the children,
Who will be carried by the Doves…
Yeah! Our freedom??
The long lost love…
Yeah!! Our freedom!!!!

They’ve seen this place in their dreams,
With candy canes hanging down the trees.
Toy train’s leaving from the station next door.
Lets wake up and give them their new hopes.

Yeah! Where’s our freedom?
Where’s our love?
When will we be the children,
Who will be carried by the Doves…
Yeah! Our freedom??
The long lost love…
Yeah!! Our freedom!!!!
