A Grown Boy

a poem by Ricia De Sa

As a little boy I saw you grow
Sometimes healthy sometimes sore
You began school a little frightened
But now you seemed so much brightened
Physically you seem so tall and strong
Morally trust you are well, not wrong
What’s excepted most is to save your soul
Take it to the Lord, take it whole.
While when you grow into a man
Give to your parents the best you can
Share with your friends your art and skill
Take to the world all your will
At the peak of life when you meet success
Remember boy, this life has no recess.
