Fame without you

a poem by Elaine E. Howie

Listen to them all the audience as they cheer
I am overjoyed and bow but I cannot find you my dear
I see not your face in the crowd
My vision from here will not allow
Me to release any more of this pain
It is all so short and insane
For the joy will not dissipate
Aw there you are you are just late

How could I breathe?
How could I sleep?
How could life be?
You rescue me in my mind
And this is only the second time
I still don’t know what happens to me
I just know that fame without you is not so free
That I need you to complete all that fame could help me be

I need you to hold my hearts brain
As I search for this lovely fame
I know not what I would do
If you would not be there with me too
I am not the one to be about
I would not go if we had doubts

I could not leave without you in this hour
The fame I get comes from you as my power
So I tell you in my need for no more pain
I don’t and will not have this fame
Without you I can’t warm myself with your love my friend
Then I couldn’t sing another sung and it all would come to an
