The love I lost

a poem by Soju Raju

I lay in the darkest corner of my room far from the world I devour
As the thoughts dig Deep into the shallows of the earth among the dead I wander
Brooding on the fact that life never lasts, yet the pain never heals
Tears flow as her scent fills the air, with memories of her past
I Dig my fingers deep in the pillow feeling lonely and sad wanting a hug
While She lies beneath the green pasture land freshly dug
Little did I know, it would be too late to regret
For the all unspoken words are chocking down my throat
All the promises of forever, are only words to be saved as a souvenir
Only if I knew… love is a curse which lures memories of her forever
Trembling I lay on our bed with her side neat and empty
Knowing for even death couldn’t have resisted her beauty
