Rays in Mist

a poem by Sangeetha S J

I feel an eddy forms within me
A fusion of contrasts, high and low,
It seeps through the cells within
Like a spring rush to a gush.

Yonder, stands a misty cliff,
Beckoning me to a risky climb.
The envelopes of fog high above
Tempt and prompt me reach the top.

There I stand on top of the cliff,
With sprouting hopes and peaceful soul.
Alas! the howling winds below my feet
Hurl me down into the abyss!

I feel like floating in mid-air
Some powers unknown set me afloat
The dreadful, chill in my soul
Turns over to the thrill of trillion stars!
