Sweet Dreams, Heavenly Streams

a poem by Vaibhav Gupta

Dreams are dreams;
But when they’re of my beloved
They are not just dreams, but heavenly streams.
Dreaming one’s beloved- an extravagancy.
Everybody can’t have this tendency.
She greets me as her lover,
And I treat her as my beloved.
Looks as sweet as in real life;
Calls me with her eyes.
Wanna remain in those eyes;
Till my death, let them not rise;
For if they rise, I shall die.
Dreams come all the way through
From the mountains that are still new.
Appears dressed up in the night,
I watch her as if beauty’s kite.
Comes and wishes on my B’days;
Before any one else, in many ways.
Her beautiful eyes in my dreams,
Are like pearls shining in my life’s streams.
Her beautiful long hair
Make me feel as if she cares.
Her fair cheeks
Shine like peaks.
Her pink lips
Are my tips.

Like a candle bright,
She lights up my night.
Like colours blue and white,
She shines bright.
With her beauty intense,
She knocks me on a fence.
With cinnabar, as its prime
All the above orientates,
orientates that special time.

This way, my days start
With her eyes in my heart.
